Will Newman is a sixteen year old high school honor student from Asheville, North Carolina, who has been playing music since he was five years old.

Will’s many musical adventures have included

• Opening for the Blues Brothers when he was ten years old
• Playing clubs and festivals for three years
• Recording two CDs with his funk band “Jazz the Ripper“
• Jazz the Ripper preforming at the Orange Peel for TEDx NextGeneration Asheville
• Founding the performing jazz ensemble “The Keynotes“
• Winning the Gold Medal at the 2011 New York Wind Festival at Carnegie Hall with his high school symphonic band

Will is an Eagle Scout, and the American Visions Medal and Creativity and Citizenship Scholarship winner of the 2011 National Scholastic Art Awards.
